Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Night shift, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; schedule varies to meet department needs and includes every-other-weekend coverage (night-focused schedule)

Hours per Week: 38

Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Triage and manage emergency patients with skill and compassion in a high-volume ED
  • Deliver advanced acute care following stroke, trauma, and critical care protocols
  • Document accurately and efficiently in Cerner to support continuity of care
  • Operate and troubleshoot unit equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors
  • Coach and give real-time feedback to colleagues to support a learning culture
  • Support patient experience standards including AIDET and timely updates to patients and families
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, timely patient flow
  • Maintain unit staffing and patient ratio awareness to prioritize safe care in a busy environment
Qualifications
  • Current, unrestricted RN license (state licensure required prior to start)
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an ER setting
  • Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) preferred
  • Required certifications: ACLS and BLS prior to start; PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS required before or on hire; ENPC within 90 days of hire
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to coach and provide feedback in real time
  • Comfortable working varied night schedules and every-other-weekend coverage
Education
  • Active RN license required
  • ADN or BSN (BSN preferred but not explicitly required)
Knowledge & Skills
  • Proficient with Cerner documentation systems
  • Skilled with Baxter infusion pumps and GE patient monitoring systems
  • Triage, emergency assessment, and acute care interventions
  • Stroke assessment using NIHSS and familiarity with stroke center workflows
  • Trauma care fundamentals appropriate for a Level 2 trauma center
  • Effective verbal communication, patient-centered care, and AIDET practices
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, multi-cultural community setting
