Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Methadone Clinic team in Asheville, NC. This role is essential to delivering high-quality, client-centered care for adults receiving substance use and co-occurring mental health treatment.
Position SummaryThe LPN provides direct nursing services in a structured outpatient treatment environment, supporting medication-assisted treatment (MAT), detox protocols, and ongoing clinical care. This position works closely with medical providers and clinical staff to ensure safe, effective, and compliant care delivery.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Complete initial nursing assessments for new admissions, as applicable
- Administer medications in accordance with physician orders and clinic protocols
- Perform and document COWS and CIWA assessments as required
- Deliver medication education and health-related guidance to clients
- Support medical providers during assessments and medication management appointments
- Maintain medical equipment and ensure accurate, confidential documentation
- Adhere to professional boundaries, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned based on program needs
- Current, unencumbered LPN license in the state of North Carolina
- Current CPR/BLS, AED, and First Aid certification
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience preferred
- Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, MAT, or co-occurring disorders strongly preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and nursing skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to remain calm and effective in crisis or high-risk situations
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and regulatory compliance standards
- Ability to problem-solve, multitask, and work collaboratively in a team environment
Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and use hands/arms regularly
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs; infrequent lifting up to 50 lbs
- Work is primarily indoors in a moderately quiet clinical setting
- May be exposed to infectious diseases or emotionally challenging situations
