Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Cardiovascular Progressive Care – North Carolina

Start Date: February 2, 2026
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts; must work minimum 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) per 6-week schedule period; no call required

Highlights:

• 40-bed cardiovascular stepdown unit specializing in CV surgery, vascular surgery, and medical cardiology patients
• Patient population includes open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR), thoracic lung surgery, AAA repair, and more
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5; EMR is Cerner
• Located at a Magnet-designated facility, recognized as one of America's 50 Best Hospitals and a Level II trauma center
• Fast-paced environment in the region's referral center for cardiovascular and trauma care
• Sign-on or relocation bonus available

Requirements:

• Active RN license in North Carolina (or ability to obtain)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Stepdown and telemetry experience required
• Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery population experience (open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass) within one year strongly preferred
• CVICU experience is a plus
• Experience with epidural management, chest tube management, cardiac drip management, and tube feedings preferred
• Must be flexible and a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment
