General Surgery RN - Western North Carolina Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, General Surgery – Western North Carolina

Start Date: January 26, 2026
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule;
Day shift 1:6 patient ratio, Night shift 1:7 patient ratio

• Telemetry-equipped unit specializing in urology and bowel surgery patient populations
• Experience with diverse post-surgical procedures including cholecystectomies, appendectomies, bowel resections, nephrectomies, and more
• Supportive team environment with robust staffing grids including charge nurses, CNAs, and unit secretaries
• EMR:
  Cerner;
  Equipment includes telemetry, PCA pumps, wound vacs, TPN, tube feeds, and more
• Opportunity to work in the region's referral center for a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and busiest robotic surgery program in the Carolinas

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina RN license or compact state RN license
• Current BLS certification required
• Telemetry competency required
• Ability to manage 6-7 patients per shift depending on assignment
• Urology and bowel surgery experience required (primary patient populations)
• Experience with TPN, PCA pumps, wound vacs, tube feeds, drains, colostomies, and urostomies preferred
