Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular Progressive Care RN – Western North Carolina

Start Date: February 16, 2026

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with day and night availability; 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio; minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period

Highlights:

• 40-bed cardiovascular progressive care unit specializing in CV surgery and vascular surgery populations
• Patient population includes open heart surgery (CABG, valve replacements, TAVR), thoracic procedures, vascular surgeries, and overflow medical cardiology
• EMR:
  Cerner; equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and various patient lifts
• Part of a top-rated, Magnet-designated, Level II trauma center recognized as one of America's 50 Best Hospitals
• Fast-paced, collaborative environment with a team of approximately 100 nursing staff
• Opportunities for floating to other stepdown, medical-surgical, and inpatient holding areas

Requirements:

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Stepdown and telemetry experience required
• Experience with cardiovascular surgery, vascular surgery populations, or CVICU experience preferred
• Proficiency in managing cardiac drips, chest tubes, epidurals, tube feedings, and IV glucommander
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
