RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in K8 General Surgery unit on the 8th floor of K-tower

• Patient ratios: 1:6 on day shift, 1:7 on night shift

• Manage 6-7 patients depending on shift assignment

• Work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

• Required to float to other med-surg areas as needed

• Must have telemetry competency and experience with urology and bowel patients

• Work with equipment including telemetry, PCA, wound vacs, Baxter IV pumps, TPN, tube feeds, and urinary catheters

• Use Cerner EMR system

• Perform typical procedures: TPN, PCA, wound vacs, tube feeds, PEG tubes, dobhoffs, NG tubes, colostomies and urostomies, various drains, heparin drips, and IV antibiotics

• Care for patients with cholecystectomies, appendectomies, podiatry, bowel resections, plastics, urology surgeries, nephrectomies, hysterectomies, mastectomies, oral/maxillary, thyroidectomies, and hernia repairs

• Required certifications: BLS, telemetry

• Dress code:
Navy blue pants, navy blue or white scrub top and jacket, white undershirt if needed (no sweaters, sweatshirts, hoodies, coats, or jackets)

• Must demonstrate positive, engaging personality with fast-paced energy and strong communication skills
