Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Charge RN for a Stepdown/Telemetry unit with day shifts and NIH Stroke Scale certification required.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital-based Stepdown (PCU/Telemetry) unit
- Charge RN role with responsibilities for oversight and coordination of patient care
- Day shift schedule from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
- 13-week travel contract
- Patient population consists of stepdown/telemetry level patients
- Serve as Charge RN, overseeing RN and support staff workflows, delegation, and continuity of care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and advocate for patient safety
- Must provide copies of certifications and licensure documentation as part of compliance
- Holiday and weekend coverage may be required as scheduled by unit needs
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of recent relevant experience in Stepdown, PCU, or Telemetry
- At least 2 years of clinical experience in specialty preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or ARC
- Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
- References required according to state-specific guidelines
- US Social Security Number and Date of Birth required for consideration
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility (no local candidates accepted)
