As a member of Leadership, has 24/7 responsibility and accountability for daily operations of the Central Monitoring Unit. Advocates for and allocates resources to promote efficient, effective, safe quality and compassionate care based on current standards of practice. Integrates clinical and human resources, and financial data to support decision making. Ensures monitoring equipment and IT connectivity is optimized for all hospitals and downtime procedures are in place to support patient safety.
Ensures compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
- Demonstrates leadership through supervision, facilitation, and coordination of the CMU Team.
- Collaborates with Heart Service leadership in organizational planning, innovations, and evaluation of initiatives.
- Contributes to professional development of staff and colleagues in an environment of mutual respect and understanding.

Required
Education:
BSN or equivalent (ADN with MSN, BA with MSN).
Preferred Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing
Required License/
Certifications:
- Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON
- National Certification in area of specialty (Certified Cardiac Monitor Telemetry Technician CCMTT) within one year of accepting the role. Those actively pursuing degree must obtain national certification within 1 year of graduation.
