Mission Hospital’s A6 West Neurology is a 36‑bed med‑surg neuro tele unit specializing in stroke and a range of neurological conditions. The unit includes an exclusive Epilepsy Monitoring Unit—24/7 monitoring with tilt‑table, strobe light, sleep deprivation and medication adjustments—to diagnose and treat epilepsy.

Our team is close‑knit, collaborative, and supportive, providing a nurturing environment for both patients and staff. Working here gives you exposure to a broad spectrum of neurological patients, preparing you for future roles such as ICU RN, Nurse Practitioner, or CRNA.

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow‑up measures, ensuring complete understanding.

• Registered Nurse, RN credential.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• NIH Stroke Scale obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
