Overview
Pratt & Whitney is transforming the future of flight by designing, building and servicing engines. We’re seeking a motivated individual to lead in a dynamic operations environment to support Non-Destructive Testing and Material Review Board Departments. The role involves coaching and developing Team Leads, Technicians, and Inspectors, driving quality management, and ensuring alignment with production goals in an onsite setting.
What You Will Do- Lead in a dynamic operations environment to support Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Material Review Board (MRB) departments on the Alternate Work Week (AWW) shift.
- Provide direction to employees and develop Team Leads, Technicians, and Inspectors through coaching, communication, and training.
- Develop timely action plans for resolution of problems while driving tactical execution of the quality management system.
- Alternate Work Week schedule:
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 6am–6:30pm.
- Serve as primary Quality leadership for MRB, MCL, and Gage standards on the AWW shift.
- Direct day-to-day quality and production deliverables, including prioritization and completion of parts through the shop.
- Provide leadership during rapid changes in production using daily toolbox meetings and effective communication plans.
- Achieve target performance through disciplined execution of the Standard Production System (SPS):
Tiered accountability, visual management, Leader Standard Work, rapid root-cause identification, and corrective actions. - Communicate requirements to peer processes to ensure smooth flow.
- Hold employees accountable while maintaining key working relationships.
- Drive world-class safety culture and promptly respond to EH&S requirements.
- Control quality, productivity, and process flow to meet MRP requirements and ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Engage with Core MCL to escalate issues and assess training, qualification, and equipment needs.
- Engage with Calibration Review Board (CRB) to ensure compliance to company standards.
- Engage with Core MRB for all Board certifications and to resolve issues impacting nonconformance dispositions.
- Note:
Responsibilities are not limited to the listed items and may change based on skill level and performance.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years of manufacturing/operations experience OR a Master’s degree with 3+ years of manufacturing/operations experience.
- Consistent track record in leadership roles.
- Understanding of quality inspection, NDT, CMM, calibration, and machine shop inspection processes.
- Experience in Quality Management Systems and use of MRP/ERP/SAP in production control, planning, manufacturing execution, and MRB.
- Ability to interpret engineering data and drawings to guide cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of aerospace quality standards: AS9100, AS9102, ISO.
- Member of the PW Material Review Board.
- Ability to interface with all levels of management, external customers, and government agencies.
- Six Sigma or ASQ Certification.

This role is onsite. Onsite roles will work primarily onsite and are essential to engine development. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting is the employee’s responsibility. Candidates will learn more about role type and site status during the recruiting process.

Compensation and Benefits DetailsThe salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD.
