Salary Range: $21.00

Position Summary

The Paint Technician is responsible for preparing, masking, painting, and finishing parts according to established quality standards and safety guidelines. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and proficiency in using conventional paint guns, spray equipment, and related tools.

Key Responsibilities Painting
  • Apply paint using conventional spray guns and troubleshoot paint equipment.
  • Read and follow Safety Data Sheets and mixing ratio instructions.
  • Paint for extended periods (8–12 hours as required).
  • Work from ladders and lift up to 50 lbs (3–5 lbs consistently).
  • Ensure accurate color application and detect variances (must not be color blind).
Masking
  • Follow verbal, written, and diagram instructions for taping procedures.
  • Prioritize parts for hanging on the paint line.
  • Safely handle sharp objects and maintain proper masking techniques.
Latches/Detail
  • Handle materials and sharp objects safely.
  • Use paint spray cans, conventional spray guns, and tap-and-die sets.
  • Follow detailed instructions for finishing and assembly.
Touch-Up
  • Perform touch-up work using conventional spray guns.
  • Mix and apply body fillers, bondo, and resins for repairs.
  • Read mixing cups and tape measurements accurately.
  • Align stencils for logos and ensure proper finishing.
  • Possess skills to fill other positions within the paint shop as needed.
Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram instructions.
  • Knowledge of paint materials, mixing processes, and finishing techniques.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders.
  • Ability to work safely with chemicals and sharp tools.
