Overview
Job Description The Event Logistics Crew Leader is responsible for the setup/strike of temporary structure for the Biltmore Company. The Crew Leader will serve as the primary on-site lead and will supervise the work of staff and vendors. They will provide OJT training for all new hires, support the front line by answering questions, and provide guidance with all Counterpoint functions.
The Lead Associate will communicate with supervisors and the location manager on employee issues and provide general support and assistance to the department, leadership and the company. Other duties include being responsible for inventory, cleaning and repairing equipment, organizing the warehouse/top room, and utilizing the rental software to plan/schedule upcoming requests. In addition, the crew leader will provide general assistance and support for leadership, the department, and the company as needed.
- Plan upcoming event needs with EL Manager/Supervisor and communicate with staff.
- Maintain event inventory control (both delivered and returned).
- Ensure inventory is in good condition and available for rental.
- Work closely with front-line staff to develop work processes and standard operating procedures for each area of Event Operations.
- Document and teach work processes and SOPs, escalate issues to Supervisors and recommend implementation of process improvements.
- Meet all deadlines.
- Set up and assemble equipment as needed (e.g., dance floors, stages, chairs).
- Keep safety as a top priority and maintain a clean driving record.
Job Duties
- Responsible for the setup/strike of temporary structures as required.
- Support and supervise staff and vendors; provide guidance and on-the-job training.
- Coordinate with Supervisors and location manager on employee issues and general department support.
- High school diploma (or GED). Additional training preferred.
- At least two (2) years of related experience. Ideal candidates will have relevant event experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing world class internal/external guest service.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Basic math skills required.
- Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills; ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
- Strong planning, organizational, and project/time management skills; prioritizes work and can adapt as needed. Keen attention to detail with focus on quality and service.
- Proactive, takes initiative, exercises good judgment, solves problems creatively, and handles various situations professionally.
- Ability to operate effectively in an intense and dynamic guest service environment.
- Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be at least 19 years old.
- Forklift certification may be required.
- Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and/or scaffolding.
- Must have knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their proper applications.
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
- Will work indoors and outside in all types of weather with fluctuations in temperature and conditions; may be exposed to dirt, dust, pollen, fumes, smoke, chemicals, and/or other particulates.
