The Sr. Digital Technology Sourcing Staff Manager will oversee the strategic direction and execution of the DT commodities (HW, Software, IT Prof Services) for the GE Aerospace business supporting multiple sub businesses within GE Aerospace. The role will require a strong leader with deep knowledge of the DT commodities space, supplier strategy, and contract negotiations.

• Develop and execute sourcing strategy for the categories in support of business outcomes and objectives.
• Lead a globally diverse team of DT Sourcing professionals to enable GE Aerospace through application of best in class procurement practices
• Develop & train DT Sourcing professionals in strategy, philosophy, execution, governance to enhance expertise and become trusted advisors for DT stakeholders
• Develop and lead category strategies and brilliantly execute them to deliver total value and competitive advantage for the business.
• Drive process and policy simplification, governance and compliance to best enable the categories.
• Lead challenging negotiations with the software industry and analyzing complicated licensing models (like on-prem, subscriptions, hosted and cloud).
• Create and deliver commercial, financial, and business objectives as related to technology goods and services such as managed software services/cloud contracts across the business group to support the decision-making process
• Develop and implement short- and long-term strategies for GE Aviation in regard to suppliers, pricing models & cost out initiatives
• Identify cost out initiatives and influence stakeholders to implement them
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders (stakeholder management) both at the senior and C-level executives to be able to understand the environment and support stakeholders in driving business outcomes
• Develop and maintain strong relationships within the largest software companies and other vendors to drive the required negotiations
• Develop sourcing plans to integrate business needs into a global commodity team including benchmarking suppliers, contracts, and services and evaluating various Business Unit level requirements, existing opportunities, or new initiatives. This includes setting sourcing strategies and executing those strategies to deliver material improvements on quality, price, and service.
• Collaborate with appropriate finance, compliance, and legal subject matter experts and drive a strong cross-functional coordination for optimal execution of projects
• Execute and support buying functions and requirements and participate in the buying desk activities
• Travel up to 20% required

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Digital Technologies Sourcing/Procurement and People Leadership/Development

• 8-10 years of Digital Technologies Sourcing/Procurement and People Leadership/Development experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, legal, business or software engineering from an accredited college or university preferred
• Ability to set the strategy – create and articulate an inspiring vision for the commodities they support, ability to analyze data from a variety of sources, create innovative approaches for negotiation while creating leverage
• Strong experience in software licensing in working with financial information as a means of decision making, pricing comparisons & benchmarking
• Strong experience in sourcing negotiations at the highest levels of a supplier
