Job Description:

The RN in the K8 General Surgery unit will provide care to patients typically undergoing procedures such as TPN, PCA, wound vacs, tube feeds, and various surgeries including cholecystectomies, appendectomies, and bowel resections. The role requires telemetry competency and experience in managing 6-7 patients depending on the shift.

Responsibilities:

• Manage telemetry equipment and monitor patients' vitals.
• Provide care for patients with urology and bowel conditions.
• Administer medications including heparin drips and IV antibiotics.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team.

Requirements:

• BLS and telemetry certifications.
• Proven ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:6 during day shift and 1:7 during night shift.
• Experience with urology and bowel patient populations.
