Job Description:

The role involves providing emergency care in a busy emergency department with 101 beds, catering to medical and behavioral health patients. The staff-to-patient ratio typically is 4:1; however, it can extend to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds. The unit is equipped with Baxter pumps and GE monitors and uses Cerner for documentation. Scheduling requires working every other weekend with no block scheduling.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive emergency care in various sections of the emergency department.
• Collaborate with techs, unit clerks, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and high-quality care.
• Adhere to patient experience protocols including AIDET and maintaining respectful behavior.
• Responsiveness to patient needs and keeping patients informed throughout their visit.

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high volume 100,000 visit ED.
• 1-year experience in an ER setting.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS certifications required before starting; ENPC within 90 days of hire.
• Strong teamwork mentality and ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback.
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED.
• Navy scrubs are required as the dress code.
