Job Description:

  • The Phlebotomist II provides high-quality patient services by collecting blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and a positive patient experience.
  • This role requires strong technical skills, customer focus, and the ability to work in multiple locations as needed.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Ability to provide accurate and error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver s license, if applicable.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
Experience:
  • One to three years of phlebotomy experience including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Two years of experience in a patient service center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Experience with keyboarding and data entry.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and professional work environment.
  • Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
  • Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials or signature post-collection to confirm proper labeling.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy.

Qualification And Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
