Salon Technician
The Salon Technician is responsible for providing salon clientele with professional services relating to the care and treatment of hair, nails, and skin. This position reports to the Salon Manager or Desk Manager and is nonexempt.
Our salon is a high‑volume environment specializing in natural nails, manicures, pedicures, and gel/Shellac services. We look for a Nail Specialist who brings a positive attitude, a team‑player mentality, a passion for the beauty industry, a desire to keep learning, and a love for the job.
Position DescriptionThis role focuses on delivering exceptional client service, meeting sales and service goals, and maintaining professional standards in safety, hygiene, and presentation.
Client Services- Meet or exceed personal service and retail sales goals.
- Acknowledge clients within a reasonable time after checking into the salon.
- Build a client base by recruiting new request clients and maintaining client cards.
- Provide quality professional service through technical skills and recommend appropriate retail products.
- Respond professionally to customer service issues and promptly address complaints.
- Exhibit good communication skills.
- Engage in ongoing continuing education on products, services, and industry issues.
- Ensure personal work area and salon meet and exceed State Board Regulations.
- Perform basic housekeeping duties: cleaning, stocking, and managing client cards.
- Organize time and resources effectively to meet sales goals.
- Communicate with Salon Management regarding issues and needs.
- Adhere to salon guidelines for attendance and tardiness.
- Maintain an updated professional appearance and meet the salon dress code.
- Must possess a valid and current board‑certified license.
- Two to five years of experience in cosmetology or the cosmetic industry preferred.
- Ability to use a computer keyboard, standard telephone, and related business equipment.
- Ability to work with chemicals and chemical compounds.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
