Duties, Responsibilities & Other- As Project Engineer at KCI, oversee the successful execution of engineering projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints. Drive project success and client satisfaction through leadership and technical expertise. Work with the Project Manager for successful project execution.
- Plan, develop, coordinate and direct projects or engineering programs.
- Design and prepare deliverables for multiple projects, ensuring timely completion within defined budgets.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (electrical, survey, civil/structural, architectural, environmental) on projects.
- Prepare contract documentation, including drawings and specifications; assess feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products and equipment.
- Coordinate work routines and assign tasks; attend project team meetings; provide task performance reports; coordinate with sub-consultants and other practices.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance; may serve as task manager on select projects.
- Mentor and train staff; ensure projects comply with ISO standards and KCI policies.
- Assist in proposals, negotiations, and presentations; collaborate with internal departments for client relationship development.
- Manage project budgets in coordination with the Project Manager; monitor utilization and ensure tasks are completed on time and within scope.
- Conduct site visits, gather data, prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates; review and approve shop drawings; read and interpret technical documents.
- Ensure professional relationships through industry involvement and identify and attract talent to KCI.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (AEC industry)
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring engineering projects
- Proven experience in project management with a track record of successful project delivery
- Strong organizational, time-management and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with clients, team members and stakeholders
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to construction management, quality assurance, and safety protocols
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment
- Master’s degree
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
- Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
