We seek a humble genius to review and disposition non‑conforming materials, deviation requests, and waivers; hold Certified MRE status; and support design and business growth.

• Review and disposition non‑conforming materials (parts), deviation requests, and waivers from OEM and supply base, supporting Aftermarket MRO, evaluating fit, form, function, interchangeability, health, safety, intended use, weight, appearance, and classification.
• Obtain and maintain "Certified MRE" (Material Review Engineer) status; complete re‑certification training provided by Quest Global.
• Conduct other typical design and design‑support engineering activities.
• Support business growth through daily work and interactions.

• BSAE / BSME (required).
• Experience in component‑level aero/marine/industrial power gas turbine design – material and engineering principles.
• Ability to read/interpret drawings, GD&T, engineering assessments, tolerance stacks, deviations, and repairs.
• Apply quality requirements, assess hardware, and interpret inspection data.
• Present technical data/results to customers and regulators (FAA, DCMIA).
• Knowledge of modern high‑tech manufacturing processes (metal, composites) and related support equipment.
• Interaction with MRP systems (Oracle, SAP, CAPP, Solumina).
• 7+ years (or 15+ years) of gas turbine engine component‑level design experience (desired).
• Experience with MRB and/or non‑conformance evaluation.
• Engineering signatory responsibilities.
• Quality engineering experience or certifications.
• Service provider mindset; self‑motivated, disciplined, organized; integrity and ethics; excellent communication skills.

$70,000–120,000 USD.

This is a 1st shift, on‑site position in Asheville, NC, with potential for local hybrid or full remote arrangements. Must be able to commute with own transportation. Work involves extensive walking and lifting up to 40 lbs.

Minimal additional travel.
