JOB STATUS: Temporary Part-Time

Responsibilities
  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
    • Management of Instructional Time: Have materials, supplies, and equipment ready at the start of each lesson; start class promptly; keep students on task and maintain a high level of time-on-task.
    • Management of Student Behavior: Establish rules and procedures for routine administrative matters, student verbal participation, and movement; stop inappropriate behavior promptly and with dignity.
    • Instructional Presentation: Review previous materials; present the lesson with clear objectives; use language and examples understandable to students; assign tasks with a high rate of success; pace appropriately; ensure clear transitions; summarize main points at lesson end.
    • Instructional Monitoring of Student Performance: Maintain clear work standards and due dates; circulate to check progress; use multiple work products to monitor progress; ask questions clearly; collect assessment data.
    • Instructional Feedback: Provide timely feedback on in-class and out-of-class work; acknowledge correct responses and guide learning with probing or additional time when needed.
    • Facilitating Instruction: Align instructional plans with school and system goals; use diagnostic information to develop objectives and revise tasks; maintain accurate records of performance; utilize available resources to support instruction.
    • Interacting Within the Educational Environment: Treat all students fairly; interact effectively with students, staff, parents, and community; foster a diverse and respectful learning environment and expose students to diverse perspectives.
  • Additional Duties: Perform related duties as assigned by the principal and carry out non-instructional duties as needed; follow applicable laws, policies, rules, and regulations including relevant policies; pursue ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Training And

    Experience:

    Must be a graduate of a 4-year accredited college program or have alternative qualifications approved by the State Board of Education. Middle school Math and/or ELA certification preferred.
Minimum Standards / Physical & Cognitive Requirements
  • Physical Requirements: Able to sit, stand, walk, and drive; able to lift up to 10 pounds; light work is expected.
  • Data Conception: Ability to compare and judge data, people, or things against standards.
  • Interpersonal Communication: Ability to convey information and give directions clearly.
  • Language Ability: Able to read simple forms and prepare time sheets and requisitions using prescribed formats.
  • Intelligence: Ability to apply common sense and solve problems in standard situations.
  • Verbal Aptitude: Ability to communicate effectively in Standard English.
  • Numerical Aptitude: Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.
  • Form/Spatial Aptitude: Ability to inspect items for proper dimensions.
  • Motor Coordination: Ability to coordinate hands and eyes for use of technology.
  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle various items and maintain coordination.
  • Color Discrimination: Ability to differentiate colors or shades.
  • Interpersonal Temperament: Ability to work under typical stress levels and adapt as needed.
