Adjunct Instructor, Culinary Arts (Continuous Posting)
Position Summary:
Teach a full range of technical skills and principles relative to culinary arts. Duties include maintaining sanitation and safety standards, uniform requirements, and accurate record keeping. All classes are taught on the Main Campus, day or evening.
- Associate degree in Culinary Arts or related field;
- Three years professional culinary experience in upscale facilities as Sous Chef or Executive Chef;
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Evidence of culinary competency, such as ACF certifications (Certified Executive Chef, Certified Chef de Cuisine, Certified Sous Chef) or verification by success in ACF sanctioned competitions; established high performance in executive or sous chef roles;
- Eligible for or in possession of American Culinary Federation (ACF) Certification.
- Baccalaureate degree in Culinary Arts or related field plus five years’ experience at upscale facilities as Sous Chef or Executive Chef;
- Experienced and well-versed in culinary competitions;
- Experience teaching in higher education;
- Industry recognized certifications.
This is a continuous recruitment to create an applicant pool. Openings may or may not exist at this time. Applications are evaluated on an as‑needed basis when hiring managers have a position that needs to be filled or classes that need to be staffed semester‑to‑semester. Continuous postings will remain open for 12 months. Applicants may not be notified about their candidacy outcome.
