JOB: CTE - Business Education Teacher
JOB STATUS:

FUNCTIONAL PURPOSEThe purpose of this position is to teach high school students content focused on business education concepts for application in personal and career settings.
Duties And Responsibilities- Develop lesson plans related to business content areas and provide instruction for application in consumer and career settings. Concepts include business, finance, management, entrepreneurship, and marketing in a global economy.
- Develop lesson plans in the application of Microsoft Imagine Academy products (Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access) and computer science.
- Supervise and work directly with students in the classroom laboratory using appropriate digital resources to learn and reinforce business concepts.
- Assist students in the development of activities designed to promote an innovative business, entrepreneurship, and financial programs.
- Provide normal maintenance of the lab machines and ensure that the inventory of materials and supplies is up to date and available for student instruction.
- Utilize classroom management techniques conducive to an effective classroom climate.
- Use appropriate techniques and strategies that promote and enhance the critical, creative, and innovative thinking capabilities of students.
- Monitor compliance with the District's acceptable use policy for internet and computer usage, as well as develop positive digital citizenship.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of current business education content and instructional methods, resources, software, and technology
- Knowledge and ability to use appropriate technology and software for application in a lab setting
- Knowledge of NC CTE Essential Standards
- Proficiency in common desktop applications (web browsing, word processing, presentations, image editing, etc.)

Pay Grade - Certified Salary Schedule
Education And Experience Requirements- Minimum:
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Marketing Education Content Area (Administrative Systems, Business Administration, Communications, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Finance) PLUS two years' work experience within the past five years in a related field. - Desirable:
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Marketing Education PLUS two years' work experience teaching content area in the classroom or related industry work within the past five years.
- Eligible candidates would hold a 760 Business, Finance, and Information Technology license OR be eligible for a 760 Business, Finance, and Information Technology license with appropriate degree and work experience, and a 730 Marketing Education license OR be eligible for a 730 Marketing Education license with appropriate degree and work experience.
- Desirable:
In addition, obtained Microsoft Office Imagine Academy product certifications
Physical Requirements:
Must be physically able to sit, stand, walk, and drive a car. Must be able to lift mail and boxes up to 10 lbs. Must be able to sit at a computer for extended periods of time. Physical demand requirements are for Light Work.

Verbal Aptitude:
Requires the ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, and to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in Standard English.

Requires the ability to utilize mathematical formulas, to add, subtract, divide, and multiply.
