Position OverviewThe Career Quest Program Lead is responsible for the design, coordination, and facilitation of Career Quest, an experiential career exploration program serving high school students. This role blends program management, youth engagement, and community partnership development to deliver immersive, real-world learning experiences that help students explore career pathways and develop professional skills.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and passionate about working with young people. They are comfortable facilitating engaging discussions with students and adults, managing complex schedules, and coordinating across schools, employers, and internal stakeholders.
Career Quest is a dynamic career exploration program that provides students with immersive experiences and real-world connections to help them discover and pursue their interests in the professional world. The program combines:
- In-classroom discussions and activities informed by employer interviews
- Exposure to multiple industry sectors
- On-site employer tours that allow students to see workplaces firsthand
- Resume development and preparation of thoughtful questions for employer visits
- A free, week-long summer career exploration camp in which students visit a different employer or industry each day
- Serve as the lead coordinator for the Career Quest Program from planning through execution
- Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, educators, and employer partners
- Coordinate schedules, logistics, and communications for classroom sessions, employer interviews, workplace tours, and special events
- Plan well in advance to ensure all program components, materials, and partners are aligned for future activities
- Track program details, timelines, and deliverables to ensure smooth implementation
- Facilitate engaging, age-appropriate discussions and activities with high school students
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and motivating learning environment
- Support students in resume development and professional skill-building
- Prepare students to engage meaningfully with employers during tours and interviews
- Lead and support the Career Quest graduation ceremony and summer camp programming
- Facilitate trainings, presentations, or instructional sessions for adult audiences as needed
- Collaborate with staff and leadership on program improvement and expansion
- Complete other duties as assigned in support of organizational goals
- Works closely with individuals who are seeking economic mobility.
- Develops career plans, sets goals with clear objectives around education and training, employment, and resources.
- Assists with career portfolio services such as writing resumes and cover letters and helping with Linked In profiles.
- Participates in community outreach such as job fairs and career fairs to help individuals understand what resources are available to them.
- Provides individuals referrals to other resources and organizations.
- Responsible for appropriating federal funds that supports individuals receiving services through Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act programs.
