The Coordinator is also responsible for tracking engagement with the schools (number of hours worked, students served, monitoring goals and outcomes) to prepare and deliver an end-of-year impact report.

In addition, the Coordinator supports ACS AVID activities at UNC Asheville, coordinating day‑of schedule and logistics for events such as ACS campus field trips and Summer Bridge program.

The Coordinator ensures that tutoring and assessment practices adhere to the highest standards for educational effectiveness and fairness.

Supervisory Responsibility:
The Coordinator recruits, co‑trains (working with ACS personnel), schedules, observes, coaches, supervises, and evaluates approximately 20‑30 University student tutors each semester and manages 2 Tutor Leaders. Tutor Leaders are UNC Asheville students who work as peer leaders on‑site at AVID sites.

Each semester the Coordinator will complete a midterm and final evaluation for each tutor and Tutor Leader. Also, the Coordinator will monitor the tutoring budget.

The role requires extensive collaboration with Asheville City Schools, Education Department faculty, public school teachers and administrators, and families to ensure high‑quality academic support.
