Overview
Insight Global is on the lookout for an enthusiastic Construction Preconstruction Manager to join a large commercial construction company and support construction projects in the healthcare, K-12, and higher education sectors. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring cost estimates are developed properly within the concept, schematic, and design stages, analyze subcontractor bids, and compare pricing that aligns with project goals.
This position requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a growth mindset within our team.
- In-office preconstruction role supporting commercial construction projects, including new builds and renovations in medical, higher education, and K-12 sectors.
- Coordinate with internal teams such as project managers, estimators, and engineers.
- Create and send bid packages, discuss with subcontractors, and conduct scope reviews to ensure bids align with project requirements.

- 5+ years of experience in construction estimating.
- Experience reviewing and drawing plans, managing budgets, and bidding.
- Experience in Medical, Higher Education, and K-12 sectors.
- Quality criteria: stable job history preferred (e.g., avoid frequent job changes).
- Knowledge: CMAR (Construction Manager at Risk) and Design-Build experience preferred.
- Experience with Plan Grid.
- Willing to relocate; relocation assistance offered. Location preference:
Western North Carolina; open to candidates nationwide with a willingness to be in the Western North Carolina area.
