We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract to hire basis in Asheville, North Carolina. This role focuses on ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and account coding for a non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will bring at least one year of experience in accounts payable and possess strong organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Process invoices and payments with precision, ensuring all transactions comply with organizational policies.
- Manage account coding for expenses, ensuring accurate allocation to appropriate accounts.
- Handle Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and oversee check runs efficiently.
- Reconcile accounts payable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies and provide support for payment inquiries.
- Assist in preparing financial reports related to accounts payable activities.
- Maintain organized records of invoices, payments, and financial documentation.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and organizational standards in all accounts payable activities.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements - At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a related field.
- Proficiency in processing invoices and managing account coding.
- Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check runs.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to reconcile financial data accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with internal teams.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and best practices.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
