- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical facility code responses as directed by site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including lobbies, corridors, waiting areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unwanted activity.
- Control access to designated areas by monitoring entrances, verifying credentials when required, and directing visitors to appropriate check-in points.
- Monitor cameras, alarms, and other security-related systems, and communicate observed issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with visitor management by providing directions, supporting check-in processes as assigned, and helping to manage lines and foot traffic in high-volume areas.
- Support staff with de-escalation efforts during disruptive situations, using verbal techniques and requesting additional assistance as needed.
- Complete detailed shift reports and incident documentation, including observations, actions taken, and notifications made, in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
- Coordinate with nursing units, administration, and local responders when requested, relaying accurate information and maintaining clear radio and/or phone communications.
- Perform security-related rounds and checks of doors, restricted areas, and sensitive locations, reporting hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations through the proper channels.
- Assist with lost and found, escorts to parking areas when available, and other service requests consistent with post orders.
- Follow Allied Universal and site procedures for handling prohibited items, property concerns, and evidence preservation when an incident occurs.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
