Overview
Provides for the care and feeding of shelter animals and provides custodial maintenance of the animal shelter.
Minimum Education And ExperienceGraduation from high school and one year of clerical and/or animal shelter experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Comments- Working knowledge of the proper care, feeding and treatment of animals.
- Working knowledge of state and local animal control laws, policies, and procedures.
- Working knowledge of the various breeds of dogs.
- Working knowledge of safe procedures for handling animals.
- Working knowledge of public health rabies laws.
- Working knowledge of office policies and procedures.
- Ability to assist with the euthanasia process.
- Ability to use cleaning supplies and equipment properly.
- Ability to use courtesy and tact in dealing with the public.
- Ability to perform basic math skills.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
