Registered Nurse ER | Asheboro, North Carolina

A nursing role in an Emergency Department setting offers the rewarding opportunity to deliver high-acuity care within a fast-paced environment. This contract position is based in Asheboro, NC, at a facility that features 109 licensed beds and is designated as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center. The Emergency Department has 16 beds and handles both pediatric and adult patients presenting with diverse conditions such as COPD, CHF, chest pain, MI, stroke, minor trauma, and new onset cardiac arrhythmias.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care including cardiac rhythm interpretation, management of critical care drips, ventilator support, chest tube management, PIV starts, and administration of TNK/TPA.
• Perform ESI patient assessments and deliver conscious sedation per protocols.
• Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team including ED physicians, hospitalists, respiratory therapists, CNA support, and charge nurses.
• Utilize EMR (Epic), Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors efficiently.
• Adhere to the facility's policies while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care.
• Be flexible to float within the region to affiliated facilities as needed, with time accounted for as paid working hours.

Qualifications and

Experience:

• Must hold a current RN license with at least two years of Emergency Department nursing experience.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI; TNCC preferred.
• Proficient in advanced ED skills such as critical care interventions and emergency medication administration.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with diverse patient populations.
• Willingness to comply with the radius rule requiring permanent address to be 50 miles outside the home unit.
• Navy scrub color required.
