What You’ll Need
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in athletic training from a CAATE‑accredited program
  • Current athletic training certification by the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC)
  • License or eligibility for a North Carolina Athletic Training license within 30 days of hire
  • Completion of American Heart Association BLS (CPR and AED) within 30 days of hire
What You’ll Do
  • Provide clinical athletic training services in local orthopedic clinics following all applicable regulations and policies. May require travel to clinic locations.
  • Room patients and obtain pertinent medical history.
  • Perform clinical injury evaluation, assessment, and diagnostic reasoning.
  • Order x‑rays or imaging exams as directed.
  • Prepare injections as directed.
  • Assist physicians with procedures, wound care, and concussion testing.
  • Apply custom splints, fiberglass casts, and remove casts.
  • Fit and instruct patients on braces, boots, crutches, splints, and durable medical equipment.
  • Provide therapeutic home exercise program instruction.
  • Handle administrative duties: patient calls, chart preparation, paperwork, post‑op calls, scheduling, insurance and referral forms, and prior authorizations.
  • Document all patient care in EPIC (EMR) accurately.
  • Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA.
  • Assist with patient education for chronic and acute conditions.
  • Participate in data collection for research studies.
  • Clean and stock exam rooms.
  • Adhere to departmental dress code.
  • Engage in professional growth and development to maintain competencies.
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and implementing departmental policies.
  • Perform other clinical duties as required by state regulations.
  • Receive required immunizations; exemptions allowed for documented contraindications.
  • Other duties as assigned; responsibilities may change with notice.
