Loom Talent have been exclusively appointed by a growing 3PL logistics business to support the appointment of a Contract & Operations Manager - 3PL Logistics.
Our client provides warehousing and distribution solutions across Retail, E-Commerce, FMCG and General Merchandise and continues to invest heavily in its UK operation.
This is a senior, site-based role offering real ownership of a high-profile customer operation within a fast-growing business.
The RoleReporting directly into the General Manager, the Contract & Operations Manager - 3PL Logistics will be based at a key Regional Distribution Centre in Measham. The role holds full responsibility for the delivery and performance of one major European customer contract, alongside leadership of the on-site warehouse operation.
This position will suit a commercially aware logistics professional who is comfortable operating at both contract and operational level within a 3PL environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Full ownership and accountability for a single, complex European customer contract.
- Act as the senior point of contact for the customer, managing service delivery, performance and escalation.
- Lead all warehouse operations on site, managing c. 100 indirect reports through the operational leadership structure.
- Ensure contractual compliance, service levels and OTIF performance are consistently achieved.
- Analyse operational and customer data to identify efficiency improvements, cost control opportunities and service enhancements.
- Lead regular contract reviews, performance reporting and KPI analysis with internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee inventory accuracy, stock control, warehouse layout and health and safety compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across warehousing, fulfilment and associated logistics activity.
- Support commercial activity relating to SLA management, contract variation and long-term customer retention.
- Work closely with finance, transport and planning teams to ensure operational delivery aligns with wider business objectives.
The Candidate
The CandidateThe successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Proven experience in a Contract Manager or Operations Manager role within a 3PL logistics environment.
- A strong warehousing logistics distribution and supply chain background.
- Experience managing large-scale warehouse operations with 100 plus indirect reports.
- Clear understanding of contractual KPIs, SLAs and customer performance management.
- Operated within a customer facing role previously.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance cost, service and operational efficiency.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A data-led approach to performance management and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work site-based, five days per week in Measham.
- Previous budgetary or P&L exposure would be advantageous.
