Financial Accountant – Ashby‑de‑la‑Zouch

The finance team in Ashby‑de‑la‑Zouch needs a meticulous Financial Accountant to produce accounting information for management, group and legal reporting. The role offers a competitive salary, hybrid work and a chance to join a growing organisation.

• Assist monthly and quarterly reporting across multiple entities, posting journals, preparing debt reporting, balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support the annual preparation of statutory accounts and adopt accounting policies and practices.
• Collaborate with Treasury, VAT reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, cash flow preparations and submissions.
• Reconcile cost and net revenue between two accounting systems, reviewing anomalies and rectifying issues.
• Ensure internal controls and compliance with UK/I group regulations and standards.
• Prepare information for external audits and recommend process improvements.
• Participate in ad‑hoc projects or investigations as required.

• Proven financial accounting experience in a complex multi‑layered organisation.
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliation, journal posting and reporting, plus a solid understanding of audit processes and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent communicator, problem solver, influencer and team player with strong stakeholder relationships.
• Proficient in MS Excel; experience with SAP or JDE financial software is beneficial.
• ACCHECK or CIMA qualified preferred; alternatively, demonstrated significant accounting experience.
