Big Bear.ai is seeking a Senior React Native Developer to join our innovative and fast-paced development team based in Ashburn, VA. In this critical role, you'll lead the design and development of cutting-edge mobile applications that support impactful, mission-driven solutions. We're looking for a mobile expert with deep experience in React Native who thrives in collaborative environments and is passionate about delivering high-quality, scalable software that makes a difference.

What you will do

As a Senior React Native Developer, you'll play a key role in designing and delivering next-generation mobile experiences. Your work will directly impact mission-critical applications and help set new standards for performance, usability, and innovation.

• Design and build scalable, high-performance React Native components that elevate the mobile user experience
• Engineer intuitive, responsive interfaces that meet modern UX expectations and industry best practices
• Collaborate using modern tools like VS Code, Git Lab, and the Atlassian Suite for development, documentation, and issue tracking
• Present and defend your solutions in both formal and informal design reviews alongside the Technical Lead
• Document your designs in alignment with the Government's system lifecycle methodology
• Bridge the gap between React Native and native mobile code by interfacing with iOS and Android platforms
• Write and maintain tests, including unit tests and end-to-end tests, using the team's preferred frameworks
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily scrums and code reviews, to ensure continuous delivery and improvement
• Mentor and support teammates, fostering a culture of learning and technical excellence
• Stay current with the latest React Native trends and updates, bringing fresh ideas and improvements to the team

What you need to have

What You'll Bring:

• Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree with 10-12 years of relevant experience

• OR Master's degree with 8-10 years of experience

• OR PhD with 5-7 years of experience

• No degree? We value experience, 6 additional years of relevant work can substitute for a degree.

• Security Clearance:

• Must be eligible to obtain a federal government security clearance

Your Technical Superpowers:

• Mobile Development Expertise in:

• React Native

• Native iOS and Android

• Detox (for testing)

• Programming
  
  Languages:

• Proficient in Java, Type Script and Java Script

• Dev Ops & CI/CD:

• Skilled in building and debugging CI/CD pipelines for mobile platforms

• State Management:

• Strong experience with Redux, Flux, or similar libraries

• Backend Integration:

• Solid understanding of REST APIs and Microservices Architecture

• Testing:
  Experience writing unit tests and end-to-end tests

What we'd like you to have

Bonus Points For:

• Experience using RTK Query
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of other mobile development frameworks or platforms
• Experience working in Agile teams, especially Scrum
