* Title:
** HVAC Service Technician | Ashburn, VA
The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing heating and air conditioning and refrigeration systems in commercial establishments. Seeking HVAC technicians with proficiency in VRF/VRV. This would include working on systems by Daikin, Samung, LG, Fujitsu and Mitsubishi.
** KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*
* + Follow all company policies, industry regulations, and safety guidelines while maintaining an organized and professional work environment.
+ Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and replace malfunctioning HVAC equipment, parts, and electrical components across multiple systems.
+ Inspect piping and tubing connections for leaks using appropriate testing methods and tools.
+ Evaluate electrical systems for proper continuity and performance using diagnostic instruments.
+ Install, wire, calibrate, and adjust controls including thermostats, humidistats, and timing devices.
+ Communicate directly with customers to assess heating and cooling concerns and confirm resolution of identified issues.
+ Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs while accurately documenting all work completed.
+ Maintain assigned company vehicle in accordance with fleet and safety standards.
+ Submit service reports, work orders, time entries, and related documentation daily using company-issued mobile technology.
+ Overtime (hours worked beyond 40 per week) must be approved in advance by a supervisor.
+ Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support operational requirements.
** REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & CAPABILITIES*
* + Strong understanding of commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical and electrical components.
+ Working knowledge of OSHA standards and safety practices related to HVAC service operations.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
+ Ability to review and apply manufacturer specifications and service guidelines for large-scale equipment.
+ Capable of working independently, exercising sound judgment, and making timely decisions in the field.
** WORK SCHEDULE*
* This is a non-exempt position requiring availability for a standard 40-hour workweek, typically Monday through Friday. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and participation in an on-call rotation is required based on business needs.
** WORK CONDITIONS*
* The role involves frequent exposure to mechanical equipment, moving parts, airborne particles, and variable environmental conditions both indoors and outdoors.
** PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*
* This is a physically demanding position requiring prolonged standing and walking, as well as frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, crouching, and crawling. The ability to lift up to 75 pounds multiple times per day is required. Visual acuity including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment is necessary for safe and effective performance.
** EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE*
* + High school diploma or equivalent required.
+ Valid Journeyman or Master HVAC License preferred.
+ 3-5 years of hands-on experience servicing commercial or industrial HVAC systems.
+ EPA/CFC certification required.
** Pay Details:** $40.00 to $55.00 per hour
