This position is approximately 2 hours of work a week. Must have a cell phone to utilize a phone app when making store visits.

This part-time position is primarily responsible for receiving and displaying the magazine shipments for their assigned store(s). It also involves assisting with any customer service requests related to magazine merchandising from store management and leadership team. Whole Foods, 19800 Belmont Chase Dr STE 160, Ashburn, VA.

Core duties are centered around being a merchandising representative of SSS for customers in the territory, on the assigned days and hours. The merchandiser provides supporting functions including, but not limited to, merchandising magazine deliveries and removing magazine covers prior to recycling. Magazines are displayed according to sales volume, store preferences, and/or regional programs. The merchandiser reports any observed alterations of magazine displays to SSS and complies with all policies established by SSS management, including the time‑recording phone app and any other duties related to the job summary.

This is a part‑time position that will not lead to full‑time status.

Might occasionally need to print documents from SSS emails and respond to any SSS correspondence within 24 hours. Reliable transportation is required. The candidate must present themselves well, maintain a clean and neat appearance (hygiene), and work consistent weekly scheduled visits. Good communication, listening and organizational skills are required, including following written and verbal directions, working with minimal supervision, and being professional while developing good working relationships.

Merchandisers must have a valid personal e‑mail address, phone and voicemail capability, and regular access to a computer for SSS management communication. A valid driver’s license or state identification is required.

Merchandisers must be able to perform light lifting and occasionally manipulate boxes of up to 45 lbs, stand for up to 4 hours at a time, and perform repetitive bending movements. The position requires repeated lifting of a handful of magazines when merchandising deliveries, and moving magazines between pockets. Removal of magazine covers prior to recycling is also required.

Retail, grocery, or convenience store settings.

Prior merchandising, grocery or retail experience preferred.

Must be able to satisfactorily demonstrate communication and listening skills in English, including following written and verbal directions.
