Medicine is always evolving and never stagnant! We welcome both urgent care cases as well as patients in need of routine medical, surgical, and dental care.

Responsibilities
  • Assist- or lead our surgery department in collaboration with the lead Licensed Veterinary Technician.
  • Follow our hospital surgical protocols and train other technicians.
  • Place IV catheters, intubate, and induce anesthesia.
  • Provide high quality pre‑ and post‑operative patient support.
  • Provide leadership to other surgical technicians.
Qualifications

Knowledge of:

All veterinary medical and surgical procedures and products.

  • Collect blood, urine, and fecal samples and perform appropriate laboratory procedures.
  • Perform all procedures associated with radiology.
  • Place an IV catheter and connect and monitor fluids.
  • Monitor patient’s vitals while under anesthesia.
  • Medicate patients and provide nursing care.
  • Perform dental procedures on sedated patients.
  • Provide excellent customer service while educating clients.

Education:

Completion of a 2‑year accredited Veterinary Technician Program and current Virginia State License.

Knowledge of Avimark is a bonus, but not a requirement.

Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00 am–7:00 pm, and every Saturday 9:00 am–3:00 pm.
