In this pivotal role, you’ll be the guardian of our data center operations, driving reliability and performance while optimizing operational efficiency across complex technical environments.
Key Job Responsibilities- Oversee all aspects of the data center’s critical physical infrastructure, maintaining high availability and performance while ensuring work is performed to high quality with no impact to customers and SLA compliance.
- Manage on‑site teams of 24×7 shift technicians, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring all work follows established practices, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Drive safety, security culture and compliance within the team and act as an escalation point for all facilities‑related issues.
- Hire, coach, promote team members, responsible for career development and performance management.
- Effectively and efficiently manage the operations budget and expenditures.
- Engage in improvement projects, driving them from conception to completion and collaborating with support teams.
- Respond to out‑of‑hours emergency calls and oversee routine and emergency services on critical systems such as switch gear, generators, UPS systems, chillers, cooling towers, and building monitoring systems.
- Utilize root cause analysis and troubleshooting/problem‑solving skills.
- May support more than one location/site and assist in new facility build‑out and efficiency projects.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and other basic administrative tools to perform day‑to‑day tasks.
The Data Center Facility Manager will oversee operations and management of technicians responsible for routine and emergency services on a variety of critical systems. They will assist in maintaining high reliability and performance while keeping operating costs at a minimum. This equipment supports mission‑critical servers and must maintain better than 99.999% uptime.

Basic Qualifications- 2+ years of work in a management position with 5 or more direct reports.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial electrical or mechanical systems.
- 3+ years of administrative experience including Microsoft Office products.
- Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations (feeders, transformers, generators, switch gear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, CRAC units).
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, engineering technology or equivalent, or 5+ years of experience working in a data center or other mission‑critical environment with an emphasis on building and equipment operation.
- Experience communicating technical details verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to work in an environment that involves walking, stooping, bending, and climbing to access equipment.
- Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience.
Base salary range: $ – $ USD annually (USA, VA, Ashburn). Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
