Field Service Technician-ITG – Telos Corporation
We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Field Service Technician to join our Department of Defense (DoD) environment. The Technician will be responsible for ensuring the operational readiness of security, identity, and tracking systems, and training users to operate those systems.
Responsibilities- Hardware
- Install computer hardware, telecommunications components, and cabling.
- Modify and repair systems, perform minor maintenance (e.g., replace faulty components).
- Inspect equipment, prepare it for delivery.
- Perform hardware diagnostics and advise on software issues.
- Provide technical assistance.
- Software
- Load and configure operating systems, device drivers, and custom application software.
- Replace defective software packages.
- Training
- Train new and subordinate personnel; provide in‑person and telephone assistance.
- Instrue users on equipment and software.
- Other Actions
- Perform RF surveys of sites where required.
- Coordinate with communication engineers to obtain necessary connectivity.
- High School Diploma and 4+ years of experience in hardware installation roles, with a focus on DoD environments.
- Minimum IAT Level II certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M (Security+ CE certification or higher) required.
- U.S. citizenship and active DoD Secret security clearance with T5 background check required.
- In‑depth knowledge of hardware and cable installation and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with Windows operating systems (Windows 10, Windows 7/8) and installation/support for 3+ years.
- Familiarity with DoD safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Travel:
Nationwide travel approximately 75% of the time; valid driver’s license; travel reimbursement policy applies.
