French Teacher
– The Role
A secondary school based in Ascot, Berkshire is seeking a passionate and inspiring French Teacher to join their Modern Foreign Languages department from April 2026 on a maternity cover basis running until April 2027. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality French lessons across KS3 and KS4, and ideally French to KS5 (A-Level or equivalent), with strong pedagogy and clear differentiation to meet the needs of all learners.
You will assess and monitor student progress, collaborate with department colleagues, and contribute to a positive learning culture. This opportunity is suited to both Early Career Teachers seeking valuable experience and experienced teachers looking for a supportive maternity cover placement with scope to make a real impact.
French Teacher – The School
This is a large mixed secondary school with Sixth Form in Ascot, Berkshire, catering for around 1,700 students aged 11–18. The school was judged Good by Ofsted at its most recent inspection, with strengths across leadership, behaviour, and the quality of education. It has a non-selective comprehensive ethos, a broad and ambitious curriculum, and a strong departmental collaboration culture. Class sizes and departmental resources support effective teaching and learning across all key stages, including post-16 provision.
