Job Description & How to Apply Below

Quindar

Quindar builds modern, cloud-native satellite mission operations software with a simple mission: to operate satellites like servers. Our platform replaces fragmented, legacy ground systems with an integrated, automation-driven approach that brings modern software velocity to space operations.

We're a small, fast-moving team with deep aerospace and software roots, energized by big challenges and motivated by the impact we have on real missions in this next chapter of the Space Age. If you want to work with sharp, ambitious people who push boundaries, move quickly, and are excited to take space operations to the next level, Quindar is the place to do it.

Release & Quality Engineer
What You’ll Be Doing

Operating satellites like servers only works when the software is reliable. Our systems move antennas, send commands, and coordinate spacecraft in orbit. Bugs aren’t just inconvenient — they can disrupt live operations and impact missions taking place thousands of miles above Earth.

We’re looking for a Release & Quality Engineer to lead our release process and ensure every deployment meets a high bar for quality, stability, and operational readiness. You will drive release readiness, validate new functionality and bug fixes, manage defects through resolution, and partner across engineering and product to deliver smooth, predictable deployments.

This role requires managing many moving pieces simultaneously — but success at Quindar requires more than careful execution; it requires leverage. You are expected to strengthen systems through automation and confidently integrate AI tools and workflow agents into your daily practice to increase validation depth, reduce manual repetition, and strengthen release confidence.

In this role, you will:
  • Own and coordinate the software release process from validation through deployment

  • Improve release standards, visibility, and quality discipline through structured processes, automation, and AI-assisted workflow tooling

  • Track and manage defects, ensuring issues are clearly documented, prioritized, and verified before release

  • Monitor releases post-deployment and use observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus) to validate system health and catch regressions early

  • Work closely with Platform and SRE to execute and continuously improve deployment processes

  • Contribute to end-to‑end test coverage for mission‑critical user paths

Qualifications
Technical Skills
  • Strong experience in software QA and release engineering, or similar roles

  • Experience leading structured validation and regression testing

  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, modern git-based workflows, and agent-based development tools

  • Experience working with cloud‑based systems, preferably in AWS environments and with Kubernetes

  • Familiarity with Python; familiarity with Typescript/Java script is a plus

  • Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., Click Up, Jira, Linear)

What Makes You Stand Out
  • You use automation and AI to raise the bar on quality, not just move faster

  • You communicate clearly and consistently, both verbally and in writing

  • You stay calm and structured during high‑stakes releases

  • You proactively identify risks and raise concerns early

Background
  • 3+ years of experience in QA engineering, release engineering, Dev Ops, or related roles

  • Experience supporting complex production software systems

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)

  • Active U.S. Security Clearance preferred but not required

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. §1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. §1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Learn more about the ITAR here.
