Position Overview:

Outside Sales Representative

We are actively searching for a full-time Outside Sales Representative for the state of Colorado.

Primary duties and responsibilities include the following:
  • Customer Experience - Cultivate and maintain professional working relationships internally, with customers and vendors
    • Design and offer optimal solutions to the customers; calling for an assertive and fast paced approach for the distribution sales activities
    • Process customer orders, including creating the ticket/paperwork, ordering materials
    • Determine and coordinate the delivery and logistics of materials to ensure on time success to projects
    • Loading and unloading customers while at the office
  • Product Knowledge
    • Ability to learn and master technical knowledge of construction and environmental products and provide education to the client on their applications
  • Sales & Growth
    • Be comfortable and efficient at prospecting for new clients and opportunities as well as growing existing accounts including presentations
    • Achieves sales objectives by providing solutions to clients on civil construction challenges in a competitive bid environment. Able to initiate and implement a sales strategy in a territory and effectively capture the market share of volume in that geographic area
    • Probe and evaluate product alternatives for clients as to provide the best value for each project. Must be comfortable working with numbers and utilizing basic sales skills including closing a sale and asking for the business
    • Research jobs for bid and provide detailed information to team on how to proceed
    • Must be able and willing to travel as needed
  • Operations & Inventory
    • Coordinate inventory management with the operation staff and the warehouse managers to ensure proper stocking levels and consider inbound lead times for all products
  • Leadership & Culture
  • A self-starter with willingness to learn and grow with the company a must. This person will be an active member of the team and fill in as needed, taking a dynamic approach to serving our customers and finding solutions.
  • Team player willing to be proactive and support others in company.
  • The successful candidate will be resourceful, enjoy working with numbers, possess the ability to follow up and close a sale, be detail oriented and possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
Qualifications for the successful candidate include the following:
  • Education/Training – High‑school diploma required or equivalent, some college or technical coursework preferred
  • Experience – 2 years previous sales experience required, preferably in the geosynthetics, construction or oil and gas industries; estimating experience a plus
  • Customer Service – Successful customer service experience as well as working with a sense of urgency a must
  • Organizational and Communication Skills – Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with a high attention to detail and manage time efficiently. Will need to utilize excellent communication skills, adept time management and proficient organizational skills to successfully manage accounts and maintain inner office processes with the utmost level of quality
  • Product Knowledge – Familiarity with geosynthetics, erosion‑control, civil construction, oil and gas, commercial, mining, and/or similar product lines (or a fast learner eager to dive in)
  • Business & Tech – Strong understanding of computers; data entry and report functions utilizing point of sale system, Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel etc.
  • License – CDL Class A is not required but would be beneficial
  • Safety, OSHA, background checks, drug testing as well as provide a clean driving record
