Lead Event Specialist Part Time

Overview

The Associate is responsible for completing in-store food and non-food demonstrations. Acquires and maintains knowledge of products represented. Serves, demonstrates, intercepts consumers and sells products in a professional manner. Responsible for the event equipment and ensures overall professional appearance consistent with job requirements.

• Management and maintenance of the equipment and supplies used for events to ensure they are clean and secured in the agreed upon area of the backroom.
• Communicate with store management about upcoming events and execution of past events when Supervisor is absent.
• Act as the point person for all events in the store when Supervisor is absent, assisting other Event Specialists with event kits, materials and tools as needed.
• Assist Supervisor by providing leadership and knowledge to the team.
• Acquire adequate knowledge of the products represented.
• Proactively intercept, engage, interact, and sell product to consumers in a positive manner.
• Assist/perform all job responsibilities assigned to the demo program.
• Communicate effectively the features and benefits of the product.
• Prepare and serve food samples (raw meats, produce, eggs) complying with food safety guidelines.
• Use small appliances such as microwaves, fryers, skillets, coffee makers and knives to prepare and serve samples.
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and safe workstation using cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain a professional appearance consistent with job requirements.
• Properly set up and prepare the event table for execution.
• Complete all assigned work.
• Assist with preparation for client visits and complete audit corrections.
• Build and maintain rapport with store personnel to meet company and client objectives.
• Complete expense reports as per Company Policy.
• Prepare and submit all online requirements on the same day as event execution.
• Take digital photos of perfect table setup to document success stories for clients.

• This role is not expected to exceed more than 25 hours per week, although the company retains discretion to change the role.
• Must report any employment‑related injuries to the direct supervisor ASAP.

• Education/
  
  Experience:
  
  High school diploma or GED; or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Computer
  
  Skills:
  
  Proficient ability to use and navigate on a personal computer and mobile device using applications and internal systems.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Food Safety Professional Certification, local food handlers permit if required.
• Physical Demands: Stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms (incl. overhead); talk and hear; visual ability to read instructions; stoop, kneel, crouch; climb including use of 6’ ladder; balance; lift and carry up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds); push and pull a wheeled demonstration cart fully laden with appliances, supplies and product;
  
  prepare foods using raw products; be in contact with cleaning supplies.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: Will be point of contact when Supervisor is absent.
• Working Conditions: Retail store environment with limited travel.
• Physical Appearance: Must maintain a professional appearance and proper grooming; specific retailer dress code included in training documents.
