At Barber‑Nichols, our custom turbo machinery helps customers in Defense, Aerospace, Cryogenics, and Energy do what’s never been done. We’re looking for a senior machining pro who thrives on complexity and wants a culture that invests in growth and celebrates wins.

Own the setup and production of precision parts across a variety of platforms. One day it’s a 5‑axis mill with intricate work holding; the next it’s a 2‑axis CNC horizontal or VTL mill. When needed, you’ll switch to manual machines to keep builds moving, coordinate material flow, and ensure the team has the right tooling on hand.

• Configure and operate 3‑, 4‑, and 5‑axis CNC milling centers.
• Configure and operate 2‑axis CNC horizontal and VTL mills.
• Perform manual machining to support CNC work.
• Stage, organize, and transport materials as required.
• Assess and request purchased tooling and consumables.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least four years of machine tool setup and operation in an ISO/AS/MIL STD prototype/job‑shop environment, working from complex documentation and verbal/written direction.
• Ability to work overtime when business needs arise.

Schedule and differential:
Roles are available on day or night shift. Night shift receives a 15% differential on top of base pay.

Hourly range: $35.00–$45.00. Night shift adds a 15% differential. The range is a good‑faith estimate of anticipated minimum and maximum base + bonus. Final compensation is based on the candidate’s qualifications (education, training, and/or experience relevant to the role) and may vary depending on circumstances.
