Welder

Summary

The Welder is responsible for set up and operation of various pieces of welding equipment and for the proper record keeping of operations using an ERP system.

Essential Functions

• Set up and operate various pieces of Welding equipment.
• Perform required maintenance tasks on equipment as instructed
• Review and understand customer orders and document activity in ERP system
• Read blue prints for welding and understand engineering specified using tolerances
• Locate material and verify grade, size, and quantity by visual inspection and by measuring material
• Other work related duties as assigned
• Keep work areas organized and clean.
• Actively participate in meetings for improvement.
• Comply with all Mark VII and HSE policies and procedures.

Experience and Education Competencies

Requirements

Education and/or Experience.

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Relevant Technical or Trade school certificate
• Proficient in TIG and MIG welding
• Minimum 3 years of welding or job experience
• Experience working with Stainless, Hot Roll and aluminum material
• Experience with all types of weld equipment
• Knowledge of reverse logistics processes

Communication/Language Skills.

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is a must.
• Ability to read and comprehend documents and follow simple instructions in English

Technical Competencies.

• Must be able to read and differentiate parts and part numbers
• Have good computer skills for documenting activity in ERP system.
• Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal and metric conversion skills
• Must have Forklift experience
• Manage multiple tasks and priorities and effectively adapt to changing situations

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 60 lbs. frequently
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, push, pull, stoop, crouch, climb, reach and use hands to grip regularly.

• Must work in noisy environment - This is in a manufacturing environment with potential exposer to noise, durst, orders and oil

Safety: Must adhere to all safety rules, policies and regulations in relationship to OSHA and Mark VII Equipment standards. This position requires the use of PPE. Must be able to successfully pass a drug screen, background check and have a clean driving record.
