Position: Engineering Technician III with Security Clearance
Position Description & Qualifications We are seeking a new Engineering Technician III to support our IMCOM Video Management System (VMS) Upgrade team! This will be a high-travel role (including international travel) based remotely anywhere in the United States. In this role, you will:
* Assist with server hardware and software setup/installation and configuration of the video management system (VMS) using the documented standard and according to prescribed sequence.
* Conduct testing on the VMS.
* Follow specific instructions, assemble, or construct simple or standard equipment or parts, service or repair simple instruments or equipment
* Ensure cable management and potentially terminate Cat 6 using T568B color code standard.
* Check electrical connections are properly connected, fixed and secured
* Analyze and resolve technical issues related to VMS end points
* Conduct administrative duties such as timekeeping and expense reporting, according to policy and procedures and within a timely manner.
* Adhere to safety standards and always follow all OSHA and safety rules.
* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and a cable tester.
* Follow documented standard procedures / instructions to setup/install and configure the VMS.
* Exhibit professional behavior that promotes teamwork, cooperation, and productivity.
* Other duties may be assigned. To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Must be willing to travel up to 90% of the time both CONUS & OCONUS (up to 4 months at a time)
* The ability to obtain a passport within 60 days of being hired
* Be able to receive a favorable determination from the National Agency Check (NACI)
* US Citizenship required
* Must be able to obtain access to all military installations and obtain a CAC (Common Access Card)
* A valid driver's license and clean driving record
* A High School Diploma/GED
* Minimum 2 years of experience in VMS and/or working with server equipment and experience troubleshooting and resolving issues related to server rack equipment
* Minimum 1 year of experience installing rack equipment, cable conveyance, and all peripheral equipment
* Strong troubleshooting skills with hardware and software video management systems and networking devices
* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and a cable tester
* Experience in pulling, dressing, and terminating cable using 568B standard
* Verbal and written communications skills are essential for interacting with on-site lead, team members, on-site customer, project lead, project engineer and leadership
* Proficient in basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, required)
* Ability to perform basic administrative tasks (timekeeping, expense reporting) in a timely manner
* Be willing to work more than 40 hours/week
* Be able to work after normal duty hours depending on customer requirements
* Be able to work in areas with drafts, loud noise, temperature variation/high heat, confined (crawl) spaces, climb dry dock stairs/ladders, work in kneeling position for layout of cable runs under false decking, lift up to 50 pounds (without assistance) with 80% of work requiring carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 40 pounds for majority of shift while being in a standing, crouching, or walking position
* Work during inclement weather or other adverse conditions Additional desired experience and skills:
* Experience with Pelco or Genetec or similar Video Management Systems
* Military background
* A current OSHA certification
* A current BISCI certification
* A current US passport
