Responsibilities
  • Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments and established housekeeping procedures.
  • Assure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner.
  • Follow established infection control practices and safety precautions when performing housekeeping tasks and using equipment.
  • Clean and maintain resident rooms and common areas, including furnishings, fixtures, windows/mirrors, bathrooms, floors, carpets, walls and ceilings.
  • Remove dirt, dust, grease and other residues from surfaces using appropriate cleaning solutions.
  • Dispose of waste properly and ensure trash receptacles are relined with plastic liners.
  • Report hazardous conditions, equipment issues, and accidents to the supervisor.
  • Keep work areas organized and ensure proper storage of equipment, tools and supplies.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of housekeeping supplies.
  • Follow fire-safety policies and participate in routine safety practices.
  • Assist others in lifting heavy items as directed
  • Attend departmental and staff meetings and participate in continuous improvement of housekeeping practices.

Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience: One year of experience in a health care facility preferred
  • Job knowledge: Ability to read, write, and speak English; follow instructions; communicate tactfully with residents, family members, and colleagues; properly use cleaning supplies and maintain equipment; follow oral and written cleaning procedures


* Team members who are scheduled to work 24 or more hours per week are eligible for benefits. Families of said team members are also eligible.
