Confidential Client is building the next generation of satellite mission operations software, and as a Technical Writer Intern, you will be crucial in explaining these complex systems to users operating real missions in space. You will transform intricate, distributed systems into clear, structured documentation for operators, engineers, and partners, enabling faster, more confident operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Write and maintain clear, accurate documentation for product features, workflows, and operational processes. Collaborate with product managers and engineers to understand system behavior and translate that knowledge into usable content. Create user-focused documentation that balances technical depth with clarity for various audiences. Partner with product, engineering, and design to align documentation with product development. Help improve the structure, organization, and maintenance of documentation as the company and platform scale.
Proactively identify and improve gaps, unclear sections, or outdated content. Requirements:
Exceptional written communication skills and a strong interest in technical writing. Ability to learn complex systems quickly and explain them clearly. Interest in technical writing, product management, software platforms, or developer tools. Comfortable working closely with engineers and asking detailed technical questions. Strong attention to detail and ownership over work. Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism/Communication, Engineering/Computer Science, or a related field.
Academic projects, internships, or personal work involving technical writing, tutorials, or guides. Interest in aerospace, software development, or mission-critical systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience writing technical documentation, tutorials, or internal guides. Familiarity with SaaS products, APIs, or cloud systems.
* Experience with documentation tools like Markdown, Git, Notion, or Confluence. Compensation: $72,800 - $72,800
