Job Description

The Senior Category Manager is responsible for the strategic sourcing and optimization of the supply chain of highly engineered components (low volume, high mix) with an annual spend of $30-40M. This category manager is responsible for strengthening key relationships with our supplier partners for the spend they manage. The candidate must have the ability to structure and present a compelling business proposition during negotiations to key suppliers.

The category manager will keep apprised of the supply chain environment and modify key strategies appropriately to improve cost, delivery, service and quality through strategic sourcing programs such as risk mitigation programs, and supplier performance management.

• In depth understanding of strategic sourcing programs & practices
• Strong negotiations skills
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
• Strong relational skills, ability to structure a compelling business proposition
• Agile, adaptable to the rapidly changing supply chain environment
• Ability to multi-task and handle the pressure of the supply chain environment
• Approximately 30-40% travel (global and domestic)
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Experience with ERP systems
• Lean or Six Sigma experience preferred
• Fluent in English

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years strategic sourcing experience
• Bachelor's degree required
• ISM/CPSM certification preferred
• Experience with ERP systems preferred
• Lean or Six Sigma experience preferred
