Support smooth day-to-day operations by maintaining facility readiness, managing inventory and safety equipment, and supporting purchasing activities across the shop, yard, and office. This role ensures organized, safe, and efficient work environments that support field and office operations.
Primary FocusFacility upkeep, inventory control, purchasing support, and safety equipment management across the shop, yard, and office.
Key Responsibilities Facilities- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and functionality of the shop, yard, and common areas
- Coordinate winter operations including snow removal and site access
- Set up shop and facility spaces for meetings, trainings, and company events
- Perform light facility maintenance and coordinate outside repairs and service vendors
- Assist office staff with minor facility-related needs and logistics
- Manage inventory of tools, parts, consumables, and safety supplies
- Track and maintain inventories for signs, cones, shoring, and related equipment
- Maintain gas monitor inventory, tracking, and calibration coordination
- Track fire extinguishers, inspections, and replacement schedules
- Ensure inventory areas are organized, labeled, and accurately tracked
- Identify shortages, damaged items, and replacement needs
- Purchase tools, parts, safety supplies, and small equipment as directed
- Maintain vendor contacts and basic pricing awareness
- Perform cost-conscious purchasing and simple price comparisons
- Coordinate receiving, tracking, and documentation of purchased items
- Notify accounting of purchases and assist with invoice matching and documentation
- Purchase and manage PPE and safety-related equipment
- Maintain readiness and availability of safety equipment for shop and field operations
- Support shop and field safety needs as directed by management
- Assist with tracking and organization of safety-related assets
- Highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable coordinating with vendors, accounting, and internal teams
- Familiar with construction tools, equipment, and safety supplies
- Able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining inventory accuracy
- Proactive in identifying issues and communicating needs
- Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Required to comply with all company vehicle use and driving policies
- Enjoy hands-on operational and organizational work
- Take pride in maintaining clean, efficient, and well-stocked environments
- Are detail-oriented and proactive about identifying needs before issues arise
- Communicate effectively with field crews, vendors, and office staff
- Prefer a role with daily variety and physical activity
- Dislike hands-on or physically active work
- Prefer desk-only or highly repetitive tasks
- Struggle with organization, tracking, or follow-through
- Avoid coordinating with multiple teams or vendors
- Are uncomfortable being responsible for inventory accuracy
