PCU Registered Nurse (RN) – 12-Hour Nights | Travel Nurse | Artesia, NM (13-Week Contract)

Travel RN—PCU/Stepdown night shift in Artesia, NM. 13-week travel nursing contract for experienced Med/Surg/Telemetry RNs; 12-hour nights.

  • Location: Artesia, NM 88210 — New Mexico travel nursing job
  • Assignment Type: Travel Contract (Travel RN)
  • Unit: Inpatient PCU/Stepdown (26 beds) — progressive care / step-down unit
  • Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Hours: 36 hours per week (guaranteed)
  • Duration: 13 weeks (March 1, 2026 – May 31, 2026)
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,930 – $2,030
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Holiday Requirement: May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
  • Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
  • Charting / EHR: CPSI;
    Tru Bridge - Evident (electronic health record)
  • Orientation: 1–2 days with a preceptor + required online modules (~20 hours)
Job Requirements (Qualifications)
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required; PCU/Stepdown experience preferred
  • License: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state requirements apply) — open to travel nurses licensed per state rules
  • Certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS required
  • Clinical Skills: Proficient in cardiac telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation (Mindray cardiac monitors), IV drip titration (insulin, amiodarone, Levophed/nor epinephrine), and airway/respiratory support (preferred)
  • Other: At least 1 year of recent relevant clinical experience required; first-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
Responsibilities (PCU / Stepdown / Telemetry RN)
  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients in a 26-bed PCU/Stepdown acute care unit
  • Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor for clinical changes, and intervene according to unit protocols
  • Interpret telemetry rhythms and manage cardiac monitoring for telemetry and progressive care patients
  • Administer and titrate IV drips per protocol (e.g., insulin, amiodarone, nor epinephrine/Levophed)
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including physicians, nursing staff, 24/7 respiratory therapy, and care coordination teams
  • Document care accurately and timely in the electronic health record (CPSI; Tru Bridge - Evident)
  • Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and transitions of care
  • Participate in department orientation and complete required modules prior to floor assignments
